Top in the running for #1 sushi in South Maui.

You don't come here for the ambiance or fast seating/service. You also don't come here for rolls or cooked Japanese food. You come for the best raw sushi in Maui - and you're prepared to wait for it!

Sushi Paradise is located in a strip-mall storefront, and it is always crowded. If you want a table, call ahead and make a reservation, and expect to wait for your food - nothing is going to be fast here. Have no fear, if you're a sushi aficionado it's all gonna be worth it!

Description:
Sushi & Pacific Rim at the Makena Resort (formerly Maui Prince.) This was the Hakone Restaurant, but when Makena Resort changed management, the the focus shifted here. Those who were in love with Hakone sushi chef Ivan Bersamin will still find him rolling their favorite custom-made sushi and sashimi at the bar.

I usually shy away from suggesting resort restaurants, but this is a must if you love sushi - be sure to trust chef Ivan to create something special for you.

Service is on here, tables feel private, and there are ocean views from most tables.

Description:
Pacific Rim Cuisine oceanfront on Keawakapu Beach in the Mana Kai Resort. One full star for the location, keep that in mind if dining here - ambiance is meh, food is good, but you're really paying for the location folks.

If you're on a budget, Happy Hour or lunch are the time to come.

This is a Korean restaurant, but they're also well known for their sushi bar. If coming here for Sushi, best to sit at the bar as table service can often be excruciatingly slow.
