Description:
Recognized as the most authentic Luau and also rated as best and recognized by a bundle of local and national periodicals, including The Maui News, Maui Time, No Ka Oi Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, and on and on.

A more comprehensive article is planned, but short and to the point, this is where I suggest those in search of a more authentic Hawaiian experience go.

Description:
Different from the buffet Luaus, you are seated at a private table and served by attentive always-on service. There are no shortcuts here.

Executive chef James McDonald of Pacific'O and I'O fame has spectacular world-class food coming out all night.

All you can drink, with a wide selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks - and, just like the food, the waitstaff is super-attentive and has your drinks constantly full.

The four course meal, is more like 12 since many plates are brought out with several different dishes per course.

This is the most expensive luau, but among the best in value - it isn't a significantly higher price than even the least expensive, considering the difference in what you get.

Very romantic setting, and they even have a special menu for vegetarians.

Description:
This luau is at the end of Ka'anapali Beach at Black Rock, at the Sheraton - a spectacular location. The torch-lighting ceremony is also unique.

Unfortunately too many corners are cut here, and your money is better spent at the higher-rated luaus.

Not a large variety of food. Drinks are weak. Lines are long.

A good option with kids since there is a place for them to be kids.

They also have a cocktail-only special price of for those more interested in the show, than dinner.

Description:
At the Hyatt, this is just a fair Luau. The show portion is about an hour, but very touristy. The food is fairly good, but the lines to get food are long (unless you pay for VIP, in which case you could be at a better luau!) The drinks are a bit watered down and desserts are not very highly rated. Sheez, how did this thing still get 3.5 stars??

All in all, you can do a lot better for just a little bit more money.

Description:
At the Westin, this is a so-so luau with ok food. But at top-end-pricing there is really no reason to settle for so-so.

This luau is small, with food brought to tables (family style) so you don't have to contend with the buffet lines.

Description:
Least expensive luau, just "OK", but better choice (and deal) if you have kids or if the other luau's are booked.

Food is buffet style with a line, and shared tables, like most. Food is not impressive (not bad, though), although the do the Kalua Pig well. Drinks are weak, but if you go the bar and make friends with the bartender you will get much better mixed drinks.

You go to this luau because you're cheap. (And if you're not cheap, other luaus are better.) So don't pay for the impulse sale in line for seating upgrades and first in line status - all the seats are good and the line is only shorter first time around (5 minutes)

Like most luaus the fire dancing at the end is the highlight.

Children are frequently free with paying adult which can really make this luau the best deal for families, by far.
