Description
If you’re tired of the endless island fusion and Hawaiian themed decor, step into Dina’s Sandwitch at Sugar Beach. Narrow, cool, and a bit on the dark side (an appreciated respite from the relentless Kihei sun) Dina’s is home away from home for well seasoned Maui locals and visitors alike. This isn’t your typical resort restaurant; this is a true old school kind of place, with dollar bills adorning the walls and ceilings, and an everybody-knows-your-name kind of vibe at the bar. The staff runs a tidy ship, the space is clean and the service is speedy.

Dina’s is the perfect go-to when your sunburned and sunned-out and a cocktail, cold beer or classic sandwich are calling your name. There are several tempting options of “Sheer Witchery Sandwitches.” The roast beef French dip with au jus is a dependable choice. Horseradish lovers are in luck, but a word of warning: it is the real deal and packs some serious heat. Consider yourself warned.
The patty melt was the special of the day on our visit and did not disappoint, with just the right amount of melted cheese and bread toasted up right for the perfect crunch. The house made potato salad is enough to make us go back for seconds, with a hearty mix of veggies and flavor that pairs well with any meal.

Salads and a garden burger are an option if you’re in the mood for some lighter fare; or go the opposite direction with one of their “Outrageous Dogs” like the Wild Dog; a quarter pound beef frank with chili, melted cheese, salsa and onions. Pupus are also on the menu and perfect for sharing over a pint or a pina colada. Chips and salsa or guacamole will do for a little snacking and nachos, and potato skins and buffalo wings round out the list.

There is a dinner special served every other Wednesday and a daily drink special. Dina’s Sandwitch opens at 11am daily and Happy Hour is from 3-6pm.
