Overview
Private, clean, modern, comfortable and affordable. The central location is perfect for active people who want to tour all around Maui while staying in a private cottage. If you’re the type who likes to avoid resorts and find adventure, this is a great option for home-base.

Abundant use of windows and natural elements and thoughtful incorporation of natural elements into the design. Gardens, flowers and fruit trees all around.

Details
The Maliko Garden Cottages are two open and airy studio cottages set in verdant gardens in a section of Haiku known as Maliko.

Both are private, stand alone cottages with loft beds, and fully-equipped kitchens with full-size stove and refrigerator. They each also have two-person outdoor showers, beach accessories, BBQs, off-street parking and access to shared laundry.

The Bamboo and Hibiscus cottages are so named for the abundance of the tropical plants surrounding each. In fact, tropical flowers and fruit trees are everywhere on the property and you’re encouraged to pick fresh-from-the-tree snacks. :)

The owners built these cottages for themselves with their own hands and attention to detail, love and care are infused into even the smallest facets of constructions. The level of quality and care far exceeds what you receive in most Maui rentals in this price range.

There are some differences between the two cottages – generally speaking the Bamboo Cottage has a higher attention to detail, though the Hibiscus Cottage has some bonuses not found in the Bamboo Cottage.

Bamboo Cottage Distinctions
The Bamboo cottage has a king bed and twin sofabed, bamboo floors, custom stone countertops, and an overall higher level of detail in the finish work.

Included in the price is an optional detached second bedroom – great for additional guests (or those who realize on-location that they prefer not to climb into a loft to sleep!) The bathroom and shower are also detached.

The detached building configuration will be a plus for nature lovers. I like to describe it as like having a natural outdoor ‘hallway’ between the rooms (rooms are close.) The outside/inside configuration brings nature lovers past tropical plants, fruits and flowers whenever changing rooms – definitely adds a Garden of Eden quality that will be uniquely memorable and enjoyable.

This is such a great rental! Four of us stayed here and had a great time. It was great for two couples as we had the loft and the extra bed cottage for a little privacy. It is obvious that someone put a lot of thought and care into creating and maintaining this space. It was clean and had everything we could need, including beach towels, a cooler and boogie boards. We loved the outdoor shower as well.
If you want something unique that has a true Hawaiian feel, I highly recommend this place.

We loved it! Our cottage was clean and centrally located. My kids stayed in the cottage and they just loved the loft. We stayed in the separate bedroom it was cozy and clean. The bonus was that we didn’t have to find a laundromat to clean our clothes they have a washer and dryer on site it was nice especially with all the towels we went through. We would definitely stay here again if we ever go to Maui. Our cottage had a kitchen so we went into the towns around the area and got fresh fish it was fantastic to be able to cook on site. The outdoor shower was the bomb! Would definitely recommend to everyone . Beautiful location

This place was perfect! We stayed two nights and were sad to leave so soon. The garden was beautiful, with fresh fruit to pick. Everything was immaculate. They supplied boogie boards, snorkels, beach towels, free laundry. We loved the experience of showering outside! A 5 minute drive to grocery stores and resturaunts, 10min drive to beach. Our son was in love with all the lizzards and free area he could run around. The bed in the loft was very comfortable. It was perfect for our family of 4.
