Diner's reviewing Joe's online seem to love it, or be disappointed. Few reviews fall in the middle. In my opinion, this is a decent solid restaurant, and I think the complaints stem from Joe's being oversold by association with Maui celebrity-chef Bev Gannon. This just isn't the same as what you get at Bev's flagship restaurant, the Hali'imaile General Store. (It also doesn't help Joe's that Hali'imaile, located off the beaten path in an old plantation town is, all things considered, a pretty strong value for the quality.)
Joe's is casual comfort-food joint sitting atop a tennis clubhouse which sits inside the most exclusive and expensive resort area in Hawaii. Give up the idea of value shopping in Wailea, and I think most folks will like Joe's.
Joe's is simple, but satisfying food, with a great view and solid service staff. I vote Eat At Joe's.
