Description:
Farmer's Market Maui is a friendly and funky little vegetarian health food store on the West Side of Maui a bot past Lahaina in a town called Honokowai.

Fresh organic produce, shelves stocked with yummy healthy foods and prepared foods (including a small hot bar and larger fresh salad bar.)

Samples are available galore from their designated sample area (and they also will let you sample most of the other stuff if you ask!)

If you're a vegetarian staying in West Maui this will become a "must visit" - but even if not veg, but like to shop locally, they have a significant selection of locally grown and produced items. Besides that, this store itself is locally owned and family-operated.

Hippies will delight in the slightly chaotic and funky atmosphere, music and warm, welcoming attitude.

More type-A folks might get frustrated searching for something hidden, or carried away with their imaginations as Knotty Dread starts mixin' up the guac. 😉

  1. In about 2003 or 2004, when I was living in the apartments directly behind Farmer’s Market Maui & Deli, I absolutely LOVED it!
I Went there everyday to get lunch. Their curry veggies were amazing! And, they were practically in the same parking lot as my apartment! I only had to walk down a small staircase to reach their lot. It became sort of ritual of mine to go down and pick up a coffee at Bad Ass Coffee, which was right next to them, get some really tasty and fresh food from the market, and head across the street to the beautiful beach to have breakfast or lunch while I took in the breathtaking view.
My ex-boyfriend, who was still a good friend, worked at their weekly outdoor market for a while. All the people who work there are great. They truly made me feel like family. Their amazing food and the wonderful people gave me some of the best memories I have of my time I spent living on Maui.
Mahalo to you all, and I wish only the best for you.

  2. One of our most favorite places to visit!! Just stumbled upon this place back in 2008, and can’t remember all the many times since then that we’ve been back : )

  3. We walk here from our condo in Kahana 2 -3 times per visit (it takes about 15-20 minutes). Certain days of the week they have a full on outdoor market with vendors selling everything from Kula tomatoes, salad greens, papaya and pineapple. Have one of the vendors take the top off a fresh coconut and let you drink the water/milk. AWESOME!
Don’t forget your “green” bag…they don’t have plastic bags!
