Respecting Coral Reefs

Coral is very fragile, take a minute to read this if you plan on snorkeling.

Please don’t touch or stand on the coral reef.

Many folks just don’t know, but coral is a fragile living organism.

Learn to adjust masks and clear snorkels without standing before you go out over shallow reef. Swim over the reef if it is in close. Do your very, very best to never touch or stand while snorkeling.

“Just this one time” might not sound like a lot, but one step can kill many years of coral growth instantly, and with a couple million visitors to Maui every year, it adds up quickly.
