In a nutshell: A quick leg stretch with views both mauka and makai.
Minuses: Blink and you miss it.
Sound-bite: “Where is the view?”
This is a small cut in the cliff that has three parking stalls (one is for physically disabled) and a set of steps to a lookout that is hidden from view if you don’t get out of the car. In fact, I stood here for a half an hour watching visitors, and more than half did a drive-through without ever getting out of the car! (If you don’t get out of the car, you have a much better view on the highway.)
At the top of a set of stairs you will have a perfect ariel view of Wailua when facing the ocean, turn around and you can take a peek into the Wailua Valley. There is also a private road you can walk down to the left, but if you’d like a more dramatic close-up view of the Wailua Valley, check out the Wailua Valley Hike.
