The Complex [to be pulled out into an overall complex article soon]
The Maui Banyan complex is almost like two different complexes side-by-side. The three 2-story low-rise buildings fronting South Kihei Road and Kamaole Beach II are much more desirable (and of course more expensive.) These buildings have just a handfull of the complexes units, and are buildings A, B & F. Parking for these units is right next to the building and in regular parking stalls.
The balance of the buildings (G, H, P, Q & T) are uphill from the beach, much larger, up to 5-stories.
The Maui Banyan is what we call a “condotels” in Maui – a cross between a hotel and a condominium. Rooms are a hybrid between a hotel room and condos; Aston Hotels & Resorts, a Hawaii presence (with 9 resorts on Maui alone), runs this 3-star condotel, managing checkins, grounds and maintenance. Aston is a good management company and services such as a front desk, concierge.
The main buildings are where the majority of the Maui Banyan’s 250+ units are. Parking for thee main buildings is in a multi-level parking garage.
A201 Unit Location
The location of the Maui Banyan A building couldn’t be better – directly across from Kamaole II. Loads of restaurants, bars, a couple of markets, entertainment, shopping, beaches, skating, surfing and snorkeling all in close proximity.
The unit is the closest to the ocean, has two lanais, ocean views, and is a great value for location. The kitchen was recently fully remodeled with granate countertops, stainless steel appliances and new cabinets. There is a flat panel TV. The furniture is nearing the time when a refresh will be warranted, though the price is well in line with the condition, and those who aren’t concerned with having brand-new furnishings should be fine with that – especially considering the value for prime location.
If you were considering beachfront hotels but got sticker shock, this is a great alternative. The unit is spacious, only the 25MPH beach access road stands between you and your condo unit. You have a full kitchen to prepare meals, and you can even watch the kids walk from the unit to the beach.
Kamaole Beach Park is directly across the street. The beach here has a lifeguard, is superbly scenic, a great beach for swimming and laying out. Dozens of the worlds best beaches in Kihei, Wailea and Makena are nearby. Five world-class golf courses within minutes to choose from.
